Our Story
Helios Airborne Solutions was founded in 2021 to address growing capacity, reliability, and safety challenges in the geospatial data acquisition industry. As demand for high-quality aerial imagery and LiDAR continued to outpace available resources, Helios was established to deliver a more scalable, disciplined, and client-focused operating model.
From its inception, Helios has focused on building a nationwide network of mission-ready aircraft, experienced crews, and trusted partners, supported by rigorous safety standards and operational oversight. Today, Helios serves commercial and public-sector clients across the United States, providing reliable airborne platforms and turnkey acquisition services designed to scale with evolving project needs.
Basing out of Kansas City gives Helios quick access to 8 different surrounding states and the ability to reach almost anywhere in the Midwest within 3 hours.

Quinton Lewis
Founder, Managing Director
Quinton Lewis is an aviation and geospatial industry leader with extensive experience guiding aerial data acquisition organizations. As Managing Director, he oversees company strategy, partnerships, and client engagement, ensuring reliable and timely project delivery.
Mr. Lewis also serves as Chair of the MAPPS Aerial Acquisition Forum and Chair of the MAPPS Membership Committee, advancing industry collaboration and best practices.
Sheng Liu
Founder, Director of Operations
Sheng Liu co-founded Helios Airborne Solutions in 2021 to address growing capacity and reliability challenges in geospatial data acquisition. With a focus on innovation, safety, and operational excellence, he has played a key role in establishing Helios’ standards, scalable operating model, and safety culture.
Mr. Liu oversees production workflow, flight and safety standards, as well as the nationwide vendor network. He brings deep aviation leadership experience and a strong foundation in regulatory compliance and asset management.
Raydel Acosta
Director of System Integration
Raydel Acosta is an FAA-certified Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) mechanic and Inspection Authorization (IA) with extensive experience supporting general aviation and special-mission aircraft.
Having worked previously with the Helios Team, Mr. Acosta now continues to support Helios Airborne Solutions by providing expert maintenance, modification, and airworthiness oversight. His deep technical knowledge, attention to detail, and commitment to safety help ensure the reliability and compliance of Helios’ aircraft across demanding operational profiles.
